Electronic Security Systems | JRC Property

In today’s world, the responsibility for life safety and property protection face a wide array of threats, dangers and emergencies – from fire and intrusions to violence and natural disasters. In these highly challenging environments, both business and commercial properties must be well prepared and equipped with appropriate fire and life-safety systems, and capable of communicating quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.

By bringing the management of multiple systems together to a single point of control, you can strengthen the ability to identify problems, respond appropriately, manage the situation, and return to normal operations. We came up with 5 advantages of electronic security and safety systems over traditional security measures.

1) Electronic Security Keys are Difficult to Duplicate.

While physical keys can be copied very easily, duplicating electronic security keys requires a much higher degree of sophistication. This makes your access system much more secure than it could ever be with physical keys.

2) You NEVER Have to change the locks.

An electronic user database or electronic keys means that you never have to change locks at your sites. If a key card or fob is ever lost, it can be removed from the database and a new one can be issued. If an employee leaves your company, his or her access rights can be deleted within seconds. This greatly lowers your overall exposure to risk.

3) Capture images of unauthorised access.

Having CCTV or security cameras allows you piece of mind knowing that if anyone does enter your premises you’ve got evidence of it. With modern security cameras allowing viewing through an app, the property owner can monitor their property anytime and anywhere. They do say a picture speaks a thousand words.

4) Visually confirm who is at a door before giving them access to your property.

A Video and audio door entry system allows you to speak to the caller before either letting them in or releasing the door remotely via an electronic release mechanism. A video entry system operates in the same way but has the added security of allowing you to see an image of the caller.

5)Keep an eye on your property anywhere in the world.

Some benefits of electronic security systems is they can incorporate your current technology such as IPads, phones and watches and can be integrated to be controlled and monitored by you, on the condition that there is an internet connection.

Benefits of LED lighting

At JRC, we fit LED lighting in the home, office and outdoors. LED just stands for Light Emitting Diode and although many refer to them as LED bulbs – in fact they are not. LED’s are tiny semiconductors encapsulated in plastic, which protect their components and help focus the light.

We believe that LED lights are the future. One day we might even look back and be shocked we ever used other methods to light our homes.

LED lights have been widely used for some time now in industrial and commercial situations, but have recently become suitable in domestic premises. JRC are experts at LED lighting installations in Glasgow and we thought we’d share with you why we think they are so good, so here’s the top benefits of LED Lighting.

Benefits of LED lighting
  • Long lasting
LEDs are rated by manufacturers to operate under normal conditions for approximately 50,000 hours, remarkable compared to a 1000 hour lifespan with incandescent bulbs. This means LED lights last about 10 years and therefore reduce your maintenance costs!
  • Suitable for all environments
LEDs are geared up for harsh environments. Did you know they function from -40F to 180F with no delay or required warm up time for them to function?
  • Extremely efficient
With standard light bulbs, around 80% of energy is wasted heat as only around 20% of the electric current is used to produce light. On the other hand, LED lights are able to utilise between 80%-90% of the energy provided in the generation of light.
  • Environmental benefits
In addition to saving on your electricity bills, you are also reducing energy usage and in turn your carbon footprint.
  • Variety of colours LED lighting comes in a range of colours, you can use them for functional purposes or for decoration.

Just look at these videos, this is a WIFI smart phone controlled LED lighting system. It’s pretty smart as it can have the lights at home come on as GPS picks you up nearing the house! Available for indoors and outdoors.

If you don’t light it, you don’t see it!
Showcase your garden at night as well as during the day – we lit up this tree & rockery that simply would go unseen at night! What a difference:

What is NICEIC?

JRC rewiring are approved NICEIC contractors in Glasgow, meaning we are members of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting.  NICEIC helps to protect householders from the dangers of unsafe electrical installations – ensuring a safe job for you.

NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry – assessing the electrical competence of electricians for over fifty years.

We undergo a rigorous assessment progress covering samples of our work, premises, documentation, equipment and the competence of JRC’s supervisory staff.

Then we are annually assessed by NICEIC and our work is checked against the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671 as well as other standards, so you can be assured that our workmanship standards are up to scratch.  They also offer a 6 year guarantee on all of our work!

How does NICEIC protect you?

In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with our work – NICEIC operates an independent complaints procedure.  They govern our technical standards and if our work is found to be below the accepted technical standard, NICEIC can require the work to be corrected at no additional cost.  Of course, if a problem ever occurred we would do everything to resolve it but it just gives you some protection and confidence that you will receive a high standard of workmanship from JRC.

Our NICEIC registration provides assurance of safety, competence of work and additional benefits to you such as protection against substandard work and an independent complaints procedure should a problem arise.

NICEIC approval is just one of the reasons to choose JRC Rewiring Glasgow.

Make Sure you are Prepared for a Power Cut

With snow forecast across the country again this week, we should all be ready for the possibility of a power cut in Glasgow and Paisley. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!

A powercut can result from many things, and usually when you are least expecting it! Make sure you follow these simple steps so that you are prepared:

Power Cut Tips

1. Lighting
There is nothing worse than scrambling around in the dark trying to find some source of light during a power cut. Pick an easily accessible area and keep some essentials there – a torch, candles, matches etc…
Top tip: Stick your candles in pots that are deeper than the candle is long – this means the light will reflect off the side of the pot and in turn creating more light.

2. Keep a first aid kit handy
You never know what emergency might happen during a power cut so it’s best to stay prepared with a few essentials in a first aid box – again, somewhere you can easily access it – not a dark corner at the back of a cupboard!

3. Stash some batteries
Keep a stash of batteries – check what different kinds of batteries your essential electronics, such as your torch use and keep a good amount in stock in case of a prolonged power cut.

4. Have car chargers for your mobile
The electricity may not be working – but your car battery can be used as an alternative source. Be careful not to kill your car battery when charging your phone!

5. Store our number so you can use the above tip to call the professionals!
If you seem to be the only property that seems to have a power cut, the first thing to do is phone your electricity company and they will let you know if it’s them or you. If it’s you, give us a call. Our unique service provides unrivalled speed and quality when it comes to electrical rewiring.

We can help you with all electrical projects, from garden lighting design to maintenance checks. Get in touch with us – 0141 892 2766 JRC offer free visual Inspections on all installations. Arrange a visit today for an assessment of your system.

Electrical Rewiring Glasgow and Paisley

Rewiring explained.

Electrical Rewiring throughout Glasgow, Paisley, Edinburgh, Ayrshire and further a field.
You found our site, so we can assume you potentially have an interest or job inquiry related to rewiring your home. Lets try and summarise who we are, what we do and most importantly how we can help you as our potential customer.
Rewiring a property is a difficult task. Lets get that bad bit of the way first, its messy!
Your first thought might be to find an electrician to help with your domestic electrics. Thats the correct step. You will easily find a local electrician in Glasgow or Paisley, who can carry out electrical testing to determine the condition of your home electrics.
So the news is bad, the wiring is at the end of its life and you hear the dreaded words “Your house needs rewired”. Your first thoughts might be that this is a mammoth task of pure destruction and upheaval, and you would be right….unless you consider employing JRC Electrical Rewiring to help with your project.
We like to call ourselves “Electrical Rewiring Specialists”.
We are an NICEIC Approved, Electrical Contractor. Our staff are fully qualified to 17th edition IEE  Regulation and capable of carrying out any electrical work you require.
The difference is, we specifically focus on domestic rewiring. Our guys are specially trained in this field and all have extensive experience in rewiring houses.
The result is this,
By using tried and tested techniques, employing a team of men with the experience and work ethic required, and carrying specialist tools, JRC are able to rewire your home in minimal timescale, to the highest standard possible.
JRC can completely rewire a 3 bedroom semi detached property in around 12 hours. This includes all electrical work, testing and plastering and at a cost of around £2k+VAT. Our rewires generally include a new consumer unit, 3-5 double sockets per room, a light and switch per room, smoke detectors where required and all earth bonding of services.
On completion you will receive an NICEIC Certificate which guarantees your install for 6 years.
What makes us different from other electrical contractors ?
Let me give you a little background on our company founder, Jamie Currie.
Jamie started his apprenticeship at 16. After successfully completing his time he started work on a lengthy contract spanning over 10 years. During this time Jamie and a partner where required  to rewire one compete property per day, 5 days a week. There was rarely a day in which a full electrical rewire was not complete.
So my doing some simple maths, you can see the experience our founder has in this industry.
Many electricians will carry out a handful for electrical rewires in their career. JRC have the knowledge and understanding of a man who has completed a few thousand.
Our business model is simple, offer that same high paced work ethic to private clients, while maintaining a standard of work, second to none. On completion offer a stamp of approval and guarantee from the most recognised electrical body in the UK, The NICEIC.
It works.
We have hundreds if not thousands of satisfied customers who have undertaken rewiring at home, with minimal fuss.
